As a mom, it’s so, so easy to get sucked into the vortex of frustration, yelling, and overwhelm. Don’t. These five simple ways to change your mindset can make all the difference in the world!

Just like small changes in one direction at point A can lead to bigger changes at point B, simple changes in your daily thinking can lead to enormous changes in your parenting and in your life.

A change in the way you think leads to a change in the way you feel, which leads to a change in the way you act, which leads to a change in the way you ARE. It’s true! Pinky promise!

5 Simple Ways to Change Your Mindset as a Mom

1. Happiness is an inside job

You can find negative in any situation—-but you can also find nuggets of happiness in any situation.

It’s wayyy too easy to focus on the negatives and get sucked into a cycle of overwhelm, frustration, and mom-guilt. Instead, choose to focus on the bright spots in your day and see the positives in every situation.

Change your outlook; change your life!

2. You’ll mess up

We all do! That’s just something that comes with the territory of life and motherhood.

Perfect people and their perfect kids just live in the fantasy world of their own imaginations! NO ONE IS PERFECT!

Don’t demand perfection from yourself or from your partner and kids. Mess up; learn from your mistakes; apologize (if needed), and keep moving forward!

3. Comparisons will kill ya

Yep. Step away from the comparison mirror, you know that one may mirror that lets you look through at other people’s lives and families and makes you feel totally inadequate!!! DON’T DO IT!

No one knows how to parent your children better than you. You are unique, and your kids and family are unique. That’s why cookie cutter methods of parenting don’t always work. Hello!!! My kids aren’t cookie cutter; are yours?

Every family has its own special dynamic — own it and be proud!

4. Trust in yourself

You were created with everything it takes to be the perfect parent for your child. Notice that I didn’t say “a” perfect parent, but “the” perfect parent for “your” kids.

Appreciate how amazingly far you’ve come since the first day you held that little one in your arms. Give yourself credit for what you’ve accomplished!

5. You get a do-over every single day

Each new day brings with it a fresh start. Yay! Leave the past exactly where it belongs — in the rear view mirror. Live in the present and be thankful for each new day.

Being committed to change your mindset means finding the positive in every situation. Realize that you’re not perfect and that you’ll mess up. Trust in yourself, and don’t compare yourself to others. Choose to live in gratitude, confidence, and love!

You’ve got this, mom!
